That distinction matters when the same artwork is delivered to many buyers.
Marks are embedded invisibly, so deliveries keep a finished appearance rather than a visible watermark. Tracing often remains possible after ordinary compression or forwarding; heavy cropping or aggressive edits may reduce success.
